Three Day Weekend

It is Monday. However, it doesn't feel like it!  

Sofia slept in because she is still recovering from a busy weekend with family.  Therefore, I got the opportunity to bake bread and have a long moment of quiet. It is rare that I bake bread. But I sure do love it when the time comes. I will link the Pinterest recipe in this post.

I really do enjoy baking. It fills the house with such a pleasant aroma and it seems to put everyone in a better mood.  I like baking almost as much as I like knitting!  Both activities fit together nicely!  They bring about a calm to our busy life!

There are a bunch of knitting projects in the works for this coming week. However, this one I have really struggled with.  I enjoyed making this Knot Lace Bonnet out of mohair. (Will post link to pattern.) However, to make a matching mohair wrap has not been easy! I do my wraps on a knitting machine and the tiny fuzzy fibers kept breaking and getting twisted/tangled in the tension feed.  I frogged the wrap at least three times and am still not fully satisfied.  You'd think that knitting something so simple would be frustration free...

The Phyllis Wristlet

This pattern came about fairly spontaneously! My sweet friend, Ashley, had been seeking a certain pattern for arm warmers.  When none were found, I decided to try my hand at writing up a pattern for her.  Thus, this was named after her Aunty, Phyllis. The Adeline Slouchy (a beehive beanie)

One of the most knit-worthy humans I know is my daughter's Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Mary Helen! She is kind, loving, and persistently attentive to my 5 year old.  I am honored that she requested a hat. The Adeline Slouchy is a beehive style hat.  This is a simple stitch combination used in a variety of projects. I hope you enjoy knitting this up as much as I have!
