Texas Rose Earwarmer

My mother found a cute little headband on Amazon and asked if I could make her something like it.  What she found was crochet...and I rarely dabble in that.  I was able to pull out some different patterns and create something we both liked.  This is really a combination of several ideas. 
She picked one for herself and asked for two more to give to her friends. 


This headband is a simple design. I hope you like making it for your loved ones!

Materials:
Worsted weight/4 yarn. (just a bit)
US 8 16" circular needles
Yarn Needle for attaching rose

Stitch Glossary:
CO: Cast On
(Know moss stitch)
K: knit
P: purl
K1FB: knit front and back of stitch to increase
RS: right side of work
WS: wrong side of work
BO: bind off

Pattern:
CO 64 stitches using the long tail cast on.
Rows 1-20: knit in moss stitch (add more rows for a wider band)
BO and weave in tail

Rose:
cast on 10 sts.
Row 1: (RS) Knit.
Row 2: (WS)  ****and all even rows**** Purl. 
Row 3: *K1fb of st; rep from * to end
Row 5: * K1fb of st; rep from* to end
Row 7: *K1fb of st; rep from * to end
Row 8: Purl.
BO.  
Form your rose/flower and attach it to one side of the head band using a yarn needle.
